About Southern Region Water Board- Southern Region Water Board was established as a corporate body under the Waterworks Act Cap 72:01. The Board took over infrastructure from the then District Water Supply Fund of the Ministry of Works, Supplies and Water Supply in the Southern Region. Operating under the ministry of water and sanitation the Board aims at supplying quality and safe water to urban and peri-urban areas of the Southern Region with the exception of the City of Blantyre. The SRWB has 5 Zones comprising Zomba, Liwonde, Mangochi, Mulanje, and Ngabu. These are subdivided into 25 supply areas which include Zomba, Mwanza, Chiradzulu, Namadzi, ku Chawe, Domasi, Neno, Jali, Lirangwe, Liwonde, Balaka, Machinga, Mangochi, Monkey Bay, Namwera, Mulanje, Thyolo, Luchenza, Muloza, Phalombe, Mikolongwe, Malawi University of Science and Technology (MUST), Ngabu, Nsanje, Bangula, Nchalo and Chikwawa.
