In order to fully, effectively and efficiently conduct its operations, the company therefore, invites applications from interested and qualified candidates to fill in the following vacant position;

Position Title : Warehouse Officer Intern

Location : Lilongwe

Duration : 3 months with possibility of extension

Position Summary

As a Warehouse Officer Intern, you will assist in the management and operations of our Lilongwe warehouse, ensuring that inventory is accurately recorded and managed, and that all safety and efficiency standards are upheld. This internship provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in warehouse operations, inventory management, and logistics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in receiving, counting, and recording inventory.

  • Conduct regular fumigation activities for each product to maintain product quality

  • Help maintain accurate inventory records using all the necessary warehouse documents.

  • Participate in regular stock-taking activities.

  • Ensure that orders are fulfilled accurately and on time.

  • Assist in preparing dispatch documents and any related documents.

  • Help organize and maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the warehouse.

  • Assist in monitoring and reporting any issues related to inventory, such as shortages, excesses, infections and discrepancies.

  • Participate in warehouse layout planning to improve efficiency.

  • Follow all safety protocols and procedures.

  • Assist in maintaining compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.

  • Report any safety hazards or incidents to the Warehouse Manager.

  • Collaborate with team members and other departments to ensure smooth operations.

  • Communicate effectively with suppliers, carriers, and customers as needed.

  • Assist in preparing daily, weekly and monthly reports on warehouse performance and activities.

  • Assist in the operations of administrative department

  • Perform any other duties assign by the Team Leader from time to time.

Skills and Competencies:

  • High level of accuracy in recording and managing inventory.

  • Ability to identify and resolve discrepancies in inventory records.

  • Strong organizational abilities to maintain orderly and efficient warehouse operations.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.

  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).

  • Ability to conduct regular fumigation activities

  • Endurance to work on your feet for extended periods.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with team members and other departments.

  • Ability to identify issues and propose effective solutions.

  • Willingness to assist team members and contribute to team goals.

  • Positive attitude and eagerness to learn.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Previous experience in a warehouse operations, fumigation or logistics role is a plus

  • Ability to commit to the duration of the internship.
