ShareWORLD Open University invites applications from suitably qualified people for the following full time positions tenable at the Lilongwe campus:
ADMINISTRATIVE VACANCY
a) University Registrar
The position of University Registrar is a senior position, accountable to the Vice Chancellor and
University Council. It exists to provide supervision and direction of academic and administrative work
of the University. The position also exists to maintain and strengthen external communication.
Responsibilities
The position of University Registrar shall include, but not limited to:
- Facilitating the assessment of student’s applications and admission.
- Ensuring quality of all student’s academic progress data for both Postgraduate and generic
students. - Consolidating data pertaining to student enrolment levels for access by different stakeholders,
including updating of Higher Education Management Information System (HEMIS). - Overseeing processes and integrity of all University students’ assessments and examinations and results.
- Ensuring that all academic and administrative queries and conflicts are resolved within the
stipulated University guidelines. - Coordinating the assessment for eligibility and certification of student’s awards, which includes
graduation ceremony. - Ensuring strict implementation of the University Financial Policy and Procedures Manual in liaison with Finance staff.
- Facilitating the recruitment and performance assessment of staff in the academic and administrative functions.
- Collaborating with Industry to establish linkages for mutual benefit of such partnerships and signing of MOUs.
- Responding to Stakeholder’s needs and feedback and translating them into effective programmes of action.
- Providing administrative support for University Council engagements.
Qualifications and work Experience:
- Minimum qualification of Master’s Degree preferably MBA or M.Ed.
- Work experience in a similar position for not less than 2 years.
