Job Summary:

The EPIC SI Advisor plays a crucial and valued role in supporting the EPIC team. They are responsible for developing the performance monitoring plan and reporting against the plan, the environmental mitigation and monitoring plan, and PEPFAR reporting. The position also involves designing and developing the project’s monitoring and evaluation systems and procedures and providing technical assistance and M&E support to key population organizations/networks. This person will represent EpiC at National technical working groups and liaise with NAC and DHA as needed.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support M&E activities related to the performance of EPIC programs in Malawi, including M&E design; measurement of appropriate indicators; development of appropriate M&E recording and reporting forms and mechanisms; data quality assurance processes and systems; database maintenance; appropriate data analysis; and appropriate dissemination of results.
  • Collect and analyze data for reports on activities implemented under EPIC, including overseeing data entry into the DHIS2 National KP database via EpiC’s implementing partners.
  • Provide technical assistance and support in M&E system, QA/QI, surveillance, data analysis, and data use to EPIC implementing partners (IPs)
  • Provide technical assistance and support to NAC and KP organizations/Networks in designing and implementing the e-cascade database (DHIS2 database) for Key populations enrolled and providing services.
  • As requested, to provide strategic information input to strategic planning processes of all partners.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in public health, epidemiology, biostatistics, demography, population studies, or other related fields preferred.
  • At least ten years of relevant work experience in Monitoring and Evaluation of Health and HIV/AIDS.
  • Experience with USAID-funded activities, PEPFAR monitoring, evaluation, and reporting experience preferred.

 

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Advanced skills in developing DHIS2 database, PowerBI, and managing servers
  • Demonstrated experience with DHIS2, Health Management Information Systems, and ability to transfer knowledge through informal and formal training.
  • Experience in designing and implementing M&E systems
  • Experience with U.S. government rules and regulations and experience working in an international NGO/PVO environment desirable.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Effective client relationship management and stakeholder relationship management skills, including creating and maintaining effective working relations with sub-recipients, strategic partners, international donor agencies, and staff at various levels/offices within FHI 360
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities and effective management style, with a sensitivity to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI)
  • Capable work in direct and matrixed reporting relationships and independently accomplish goals under broad direction.
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, multi-tasking, and time management skills, with the ability to work to tight deadlines.

Travel requirements

•             15% local travel to sub-recipients and EpiC field offices
