Blantyre Water Board
Blantyre Water Board is a government-owned institution established and reconstituted under the Waterworks Act of 1995 to supply potable water to residents of the City of Blantyre City and other surrounding areas. Blantyre Water Board is inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill the following vacant positions:
SKILLED LABOURER (NON-ESTABLISHED)
Applicants must have the following qualifications and attributes:
- At least Malawi School Certificate of Education
- At least one (1) year experience in a related field
- Ability to follow instructions
- Physically fit to carryout excavation and backfilling works.
- Willingness to work overtime.
The successful applicant will be responsible for:
a) Excavating and backfilling trenches for pipe laying and ensuring that pipe trenches are done according to set standards and specifications
b) Assisting in laying and commissioning of mains
c) Taking care of tools and equipment and ensuring their safety
d) Cleaning the tools and equipment after use
e) Assisting in carrying out of minor fault repairs
f) Performing any other relevant duties to the post as assigned from time to time.
