POSITION: SECONDARY HUMANITIES TEACHER

Kingdom Builders Academy, an esteemed private secondary school in Zomba, Malawi, is seeking a dedicated Secondary Humanities Teacher to inspire and educate students in the field of humanities. The successful candidate will have a strong background in humanities education and a commitment to fostering critical thinking and analytical skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Curriculum Delivery: Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and comprehensive humanities lessons that align with the school’s curriculum and educational standards.
  2. Classroom Management: Maintain a positive and disciplined classroom environment that fosters respect, active participation, and constructive learning.
  3. Assessment and Progress Monitoring: Regularly assess student progress through evaluations, tests, and assignments, providing constructive feedback to students and parents.
  4. Individualized Support: Identify and address the learning needs of individual students, providing additional support and challenges as required.
  5. Collaboration: Collaborate with other subject teachers and school staff to facilitate cross-disciplinary projects and maintain a cohesive learning environment.
  6. Parent-Teacher Communication: Maintain open communication with parents/guardians, providing regular updates on student progress and addressing any concerns.
  7. Professional Development: Engage in ongoing professional development opportunities to stay updated on teaching methodologies and educational best practices.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • University or equivalent degree or certificate with a major in the field.
  • Previous experience in teaching at the secondary level is preferred.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English with excellent communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to create engaging lesson plans and classroom activities.
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create a positive learning environment.
  • Familiarity with educational technology and its integration into the learning process.
