Recruitment Officer

Job Summary:

We are looking for a Recruitment Specialist to manage the full-cycle recruitment process, ensuring we attract, select, and onboard top talent for our organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of recruitment strategies, talent acquisition techniques, and local labor market trends in Malawi.

Key Responsibilities:

Talent Acquisition & Recruitment

  • Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies to attract qualified candidates.

  • Post job openings on relevant job boards, social media, and other recruitment channels.

  • Source potential candidates through online and offline networking methods.

  • Screen resumes and applications to shortlist qualified candidates.

  • Conduct interviews (phone, virtual, and in-person) and assess candidates’ skills, experience, and cultural fit.

  • Coordinate interview scheduling between candidates and hiring managers.

  • Provide feedback and recommendations to hiring managers on candidate suitability.

Onboarding & Employee Integration

  • Facilitate a smooth onboarding process for new hires, ensuring compliance with company policies.

  • Work with HR to ensure new employees complete all necessary documentation and training.

  • Assist in designing onboarding programs to improve employee retention.

Employer Branding & Candidate Experience

  • Promote the company as an employer of choice in Malawi.

  • Ensure a positive candidate experience throughout the hiring process.

  • Engage in employer branding activities such as job fairs, social media campaigns, and university partnerships.

Compliance & Reporting

  • Ensure all hiring activities comply with Malawian labor laws and company policies.

  • Maintain and update recruitment databases and applicant tracking systems.

  • Prepare and present reports on recruitment activities, hiring trends, and key performance metrics.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Management

  • Work closely with department managers to understand hiring needs.

  • Build relationships with universities, training institutions, and industry partners to create a talent pipeline.

  • Collaborate with HR and leadership to improve recruitment processes and strategies.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in recruitment, talent acquisition, or HR roles.

  • Strong knowledge of Malawian labor laws and hiring best practices.

  • Experience with online job platforms (e.g., MyJob, LinkedIn, BrighterMonday Malawi).

  • Familiarity with applicant tracking systems (ATS) and recruitment software.

  • Strong interviewing, negotiation, and communication skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple recruitment projects and meet deadlines.

  • Strong networking and relationship-building skills.

Preferred Skills & Competencies:

  • Experience in recruiting for multiple industries

  • Knowledge of employer branding strategies.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
