Ntcheu District Council

Local Government Service Commission is inviting Applications from suitably qualified individuals to
fill the following vacant positions tenable at Ntcheu District Council.

Job Title: Principal Trade Officer
Grade:M4
Salary: Within the Grade M4 salary scale segment
Location: Ntcheu District Council

Qualification

Applicants must be serving Senior Trade Officers grade M5 regardless of experience at that grade
or Trade Officers (Grade M6) with at least 4 years of experience at that grade in local authorities.

Duties and Responsibilities

I. Participating in initial drafting of policy documents, position and concept papers.
II. Responding to county Council questions; intra and inter communication between departments
on trade related issues.
III. Facilitating the settlement of trade disputes, and responding to public complaints on trade and customer care issues.
IV. Compiling and analyzing economic and trade related data.
V. Disseminating business information to the business community.
VI. Facilitating trade promotion activities through trade fairs and exhibitions.
VII. Undertaking market profiling and market intelligence surveys trade development.
VIII. Providing consultancy and extension services on trade issues.

Note: Documentary evidence of major requirements specified in the advertisement shall be required during interviews. Serving officers will also be required to demonstrate during the  interviews that they are permanent and pensionable officers in the Civil Service by producing letters of confirmation in appointment in addition to letters of condition of appointment on probation (PSR 19)
