Millennium Challenge Account-Malawi II (“MCA-Malawi II”)

The Government of Malawi signed a five-year agreement (“Compact”) with the Millennium Challenge Corporation (“MCC”) to fund specific programs targeted at reducing poverty and stimulating economic growth. MCC is a U.S. government agency focused on assisting countries dedicated to good governance, economic freedom, and investing in people. An Accountable Entity called the Millennium Challenge Account-Malawi II (“MCA-Malawi II”) has been created and designated by the Government of Malawi to implement the Compact. The compact has three projects: 1) the Accelerated Growth Corridors Project (AGC) will focus on reducing the costs of transport in targeted rural areas; 2) the Increased Land Productivity
Project will focus on improving land services, strengthening conditions for increased investment in land and better functioning land markets, including in Malawi’s largest cities; and (3) the American Catalyst Facility for Development Project to facilitate U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) investment in Malawi to catalyse increased private investment.

Manager, Increased Land Productivity Project

Position Summary

The Manager, Increased Land Productivity Project, under the direction of the Director, Increased Land Productivity Project, is accountable for the successful implementation of the Increased Land Productivity Project from initiation to execution of the large-scale land reform and administration project. The Manager is responsible for pressing for the completion of required reforms and actions at the highest levels, establishing and maintaining collaborative relationships with project stakeholders, and oversight of project work plans and budgets. The Manager will assist the Director, Increased Land Productivity Project in the management of the project by ensuring the alignment of project execution with the overall objectives of the Compact and the judicious management of its resources.
