 About Affiance Limited

Affiance (Malawi) Limited is a Joint Venture Company by Press Agriculture Limited, a company owned by Press Trust Limited in Malawi and the MGF Trust. The Joint Venture is transitioning traditionally former tobacco and grain estates to stevia farms. The estates are in the central region of Malawi, in Kasungu District.  This incorporates 16 estates totalling over 10,000 hectares. It is the single most significant agriculture Project in the district since 1978, destined to transition Kasungu into a major agriculture hub.

The core purpose of the role

As a Management Systems and Business Efficiency Manager, you will be responsible for developing and implementing efficient systems and processes to improve productivity and profitability across all departments of the organization. You will work closely with department heads and senior management to ensure that business operations are streamlined, cost-effective and meet regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities and Duties


  • Manage and oversee all management systems and processes, including data management, quality management, and project management.
  • Identify opportunities for operational efficiency improvements and work with other managers to implement best practices.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve business efficiency, including workflow optimization and automation.
  • Conduct audits to ensure that established processes and procedures are being followed and identify areas for improvement.
  • Oversee the Affiance Enterprise Risk Management.
  • Oversee Affiance Management Reporting.
  • Oversee Affiance Data Management.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for systems, processes and procedures.
  • Develop and implement training programs for staff on operational efficiency, quality management and project management.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO standards, including ISO9000, ISO14000, and ISO27000, and other relevant industry-specific standards.
  • Implement Six Sigma methodologies to reduce defects, improve quality, and increase efficiency.

Academic qualifications 



  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering or related field.
  • A Master’s degree in a related field is preferred.


Work experience



  • Minimum 5 years experience in business efficiency and management.
  • Experience with relevant industry-specific standards and regulatory requirements.





  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, process improvement strategies, and quality management systems, including ISO9000 and Six Sigma.
  • A deep understanding of business processes and principles governing efficiency with an emphasis on agricultural production, civil engineering, and processing plant facilities.
  • Extensive project management and process engineering knowledge and experience particularly in terms of processes and systems as they relate to large-scale operations
  • Technical expertise as it relates to all aspects of process engineering with emphasis on knowledge regarding the design and implementation of large-scale commercial farms, processing facilities, power stations and agricultural operations.
  • Technical expertise in Enterprise Risk Management.
  • Technical expertise in Management Reporting and including the Balance Score Card.
  • Technical expertise in Process Mapping and Enterprise Process & Systems Gap Analysis.





  • Exceptional analytical skills and the ability to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to effectively manage projects and teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage high-value Projects and coordinate internal service providers as well as contracting parties to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Strong technical acumen and the ability to interpret analysis of a scientific and technical nature.
  • Monitor, identify and advise on challenges and risks facing the implementation of the project.
  • High level of computer literacy (primarily in Microsoft Office packages and Asana).
