Malawi College of Accountancy, Malawi’s premier accountancy and business management training institution, would like to engage the services of highly motivated and results oriented individual for the position of ICT Technician tenable at Head Office in Blantyre.

Qualifications:

The person must have Advanced Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology or its equivalent from a recognized academic institution. Those with professional certifications in networking CompTIA+, Microsoft products or Server Administration will have an added advantage.

Professional skills / Attributes

  • Must have a good understanding of Server and client operating systems and networking
  • Comprehensive experience in bare-metal Network installation is a plus.
  • Comprehensive experience working with OS installations troubleshooting of end users technical problems.
  • Must be willing to learn and capable of quickly adapting to new technologies and business processes.
  • Must have the ability to continue servicing clients even when there is a partial technology failure.
  • Must have at least 3 years’ experience working as an ICT Technician in a busy ICT environment.
  • Must be security conscious.
  • Must be an honest individual with sober habits.
  • Must have excellent customer service skills.

Responsibilities

  • OS installations and troubleshooting of general user’s ICT resources i.e. computers, printers and networking equipment.
  • Make sure laboratories, i.e. CBE laboratory, Library computers, computer laboratory and peripherals are always functioning properly
  • Maintain the network and the computer systems under the supervision ICT Officer.
  • Making sure that the computer laboratories are always provided with enough supervision and security.
  • Ensure that the software on all the systems is always updated.
  • Help in solving regular general network problems.
  • Clean the computer systems regularly.
  • Assist with all documentation activities.
  • Maintain standards compliance.
  • Train users, clients and peers.
