Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill the following position tenable at Head Office, Blantyre.

Head of Business Development – Treasury

Reporting to the Head of Treasury the successful candidate will maximise the bank’s profitability through foreign exchange and money market operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Articulate and implement the Treasury Department’s strategy for selling products or services.
  • Develop forecasts and strategies to achieve sales at price levels to ensure profitability.
  • Actively seek out major customers and forms good relationships with key influencers.
  • Lead presentations for business development and involved in meetings with key business stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain quality relationships with customers, stakeholders and other industry players

Technical Skills/Competencies

  • Thorough understanding of foreign exchange markets.
  • Good communication and inter-personal skills.
  • Integrity, able to handle pressure.
  • Strong influencing, negotiation skills.
  • problem-solving and
  • Good understanding of market demand and customer behavior.
  • Team player.
  • Speedy and accurate decisions regarding forex purchases or sales.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics or equivalent.
  • A Master’s Degree is an added advantage.
  • An ACI Dealing certificate is a must.
  • At least 5 years experience in Treasury function.
  • At least 2 years’ experience in sales.
