TIL Limited

TIL Limited, a subsidiary company of AHL Group Plc, seeks to recruit a dynamic, focused and result-oriented individual to fill a vacant position of GENERAL MANAGER. TIL’s business is the provision of tobacco packaging (hessian) and tobacco re-handling services to tobacco farmers. The company commands a big market share in tobacco hessian distribution across the country.

The General Manager will be required to provide general and strategic management of TIL Limited in an effective and efficient manner for the company’s growth and profitability.

Key duties and responsibilities

  1. Strategic planning for the organization and putting in place strategies for the organization’s various functional areas such as Finance, Administration, Marketing, Operations and ensuring effective implementation of the plans and strategies.
  2. Developing annual budgets and plans of the organization and ensuring achievement of the same.
  3. Identifying areas of diversification and sustainably leading the organization in its diversification drive for its growth and continued relevance in the market.
  4. Undertaking change management processes for the organization and ensuring uninterrupted and consistent operations for the achievement of TIL’s goals and objectives.
  5. Ensuring that the organization has enough resources such as human and equipment for its effective and efficient operations and for the provision of superior customer service to its clients.
  6. Ensuring that the organization has uninterrupted, timely and efficient supply of its products in strategic areas accessible to its customers.
  7. Capacity development of all staff; ensuring that TIL has adequate, motivated and sufficiently trained human resource to deliver on its mandate Effective implementation of policies, standards and guidelines. Enforcement of corporate governance standards especially with regard to budgeting, accounting, auditing and compliance issues including statutory and annual reports.
  8. Developing Key Performance Indicators and setting performance targets and conducting periodic performance assessments of various departments and sections of the organization.
  9. Advising the Board and the Group Chief Executive on the technical and operational matters relating to the business of the company.
  10. Leading the organization’s team towards achievement of goals and objectives by ensuring teamwork, proper implementation of industrial relations activities, availability of effective reporting and communication channels.
  11. Initiating business contracts and ensuring that supply contracts are efficiently and effectively managed to achieve customer satisfaction.
  12. Develop and maintain good corporate governance, as well as the highest integrity and ethical conduct with stakeholders and allied relationships.

Qualifications and Experience

  1. Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA), Strategic Management or Agribusiness
  2. Bachelor’s Degree in Agribusiness or any relevant business-oriented degree.
  3. Seven (7) years working experience at Senior Management Level with significant understanding and working experience in trading or agri-business.
  4. Be familiar with the Tobacco industry. Candidate should demonstrate familiarity with the global trends and evolution of the industry in various sectors.
  5. Be a team player, mature with good communication skills and committed to high standards of integrity.
  6. Computer literate in widely used applications is critical.
