EXECUTIVE HOUSEKEEPER
An opportunity has arisen for a suitably qualified person to take up the position of Executive Housekeeper tenable at one of Sunbird hotels. Reporting to the General Manager, the incumbent will have the overall responsibility of overseeing the general cleanliness, maintenance and ambience of the entire hotel.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Developing medium to long-term strategic and operational plans for Housekeeping department.
- Developing departmental budgets in line with the hotel’s strategic business plan. Ensuring that all rooms have been allocated for cleaning.
- Formulating spring cleaning schedules for guests’ rooms and public areas. Coordinating all activities of the Health Club.
- Handling guests’ complaints pertaining to housekeeping at all times.
- Ensuring that housekeeping operating costs are controlled at all times.
- Ensuring that the hotel is clean, hygienic and safe at all times.
- Carrying out all staff management activities.
- Managing all guests’ laundry, staff uniforms and hotel linen.
- Ensuring pest control programs and exercises are done as scheduled.
- Any other relevant duties as assigned by Management from time to time.
Knowledge, skills, competences and attributes desired:
- A Diploma in Housekeeping Operations or Hospitality Management obtained from any institution recognized by NCHE; those with a Bachelor’s Degree will have an added advantage.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in Housekeeping Supervision acquired in a 4 – 5-star property;
- Must be a team player;
- Excellent communication and leadership skills;
- Detail oriented character and observation skills;
- Exceptional guest service skills.
