We continue to change the lives of over 2.4 million children who today will receive a Mary’s Meals. Mary’s Meals Malawi is our largest school feeding programme, and we work closely with schools and community volunteers who help prepare and serve the nutritious meals every school day.

Marys Meals Malawi is looking to recruit energetic and motivated individuals for the position of:

Communications Manager – (Permanent Position based in Blantyre)

Job purpose

Reporting to the Head of Growth, the Communications Manager (CM) is responsible for the delivery of a Communications strategy whilst supporting in the development of sustainable growth strategies, and fundraising structures that are accommodative to all arrays of our supporters, donors and volunteers. This role will also ensure the smooth running of the Sponsor a School programme in Malawi.

Requirements

  • A bachelors degree in communication studies (PR/ Journalism) or relevant field/subject from a recognisable institution.
  • At least 3 years’ proven experience working within communications in an NGO setting.
  • Demonstrated experience of developing and implementing digital and social media communications strategies
  • Working knowledge of all Adobe applications i.e., InDesign, Premier Pro, Photoshop and Lightroom.
  • Good photography skills.
  • Strong Writing and editing skills.
  • Good organisational, planning and coordinating skills.
  • Ability to think strategically.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritise as necessary.
  • Desire to take ownership of assigned projects (accountability)
  • Pro-active in collecting and sharing new developments in relation to the program.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build and maintain good communications channels at all levels within the organization.
  • Possesses a sense of urgency and self-motivated
  • Proficiency working with Microsoft Programmes, especially Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Creative and innovative.
  • Good communication skills across all levels and with a wide range of different people.
  • Experience working towards tight deadlines
  • Dependable honest and always fostering an atmosphere of trust and integrity.
  • Excellent Team Supervisory skills.
  • Possess a valid driving licence.
