The C Square is a modern Lounge situated off Kaunda road in Fairview (Ntaba), Area 51, Lilongwe. The C Square offers first class food and beverage services to the whole family.

We are looking for a Chef to join our team and prepare delicious meals for our customers.

Chef responsibilities include studying recipes, setting up menus and preparing high-quality dishes. You should be able to be multi tasked to ensure meals are prepared in a timely manner.

Ultimately, you’ll prepare and deliver a complete menu that delights our guests.

Responsibilities

• Set up the kitchen with cooking utensils and equipment, like knives, pans and kitchen scales

• Study each recipe and gather all necessary ingredients

• Cook food in a timely manner

• Collaborate with the Bar Tender and other staff

• Inform patrons about daily specials

• Ensure appealing plate presentation

• Go round the Lounge and assist as needed

• Slightly modify recipes to meet customers’ needs and requests (e.g. reduce salt, remove dairy)

• Monitor food stock and place orders

• Check freshness of food and discard out-of-date items

• Experiment with recipes and suggest new ingredients

• Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations within the kitchen area

Requirements and skills

• Proven work experience as a Chef or Cook

• Hands-on experience with various kitchen equipment (e.g. grillers and pasta makers)

• Advanced knowledge of culinary, baking and pastry techniques

• Leadership skills

• Ability to remain calm and undertake various tasks

• Excellent time management abilities

• Up-to-date knowledge of cooking techniques and recipes

• Familiarity with sanitation regulations

BarTender Wanted (1)

We are looking for an enthusiastic Bartender to provide an excellent guest drinking experience. Good Bartenders will be able to create classic and innovative drinks exceeding customers’ needs and expectations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare alcohol or non-alcohol beverages for bar and restaurant patrons

• Interact with customers, take orders and serve snacks and drinks

• Assess customers’ needs and preferences and make recommendations

• Mix ingredients to prepare cocktails

• Plan and present bar menu

• Check customers’ identification and confirm it meets legal drinking age

• Restock and replenish bar inventory and supplies

• Stay guest focused and nurture an excellent guest experience

• Comply with all food and beverage regulations

Requirements and skills

• Resume and proven working experience as a Bartender

• Excellent knowledge of/in mixing, garnishing and serving drinks

• Numerical literacy

• Positive attitude and excellent communication skills

• Ability to keep the bar organized, stocked and clean

• Relevant training certificate
