EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY

The Malawi Broadcasting Corporation (MBC) is seeking to hire qualified and experienced candidates for the following positions within its Engineering and ICT Services Directorate:

Creative video editor (2 Positions)

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Edits video footage for news segments, documentaries, promotional materials, entertainment programs, and other broadcast content.
• Assembles raw footage into a cohesive and engaging narrative.
• Adds graphics, titles, lower thirds, and other visual elements to enhance the viewing experience.
• Incorporates sound effects, music, and voiceovers to create the desired mood and impact.
• Ensures accurate colour correction and audio mixing.
• Collaborates with producers, reporters, and other team members to understand project requirements and deadlines.
• Manages and organizes video files and assets.
• Operates and maintains video editing equipment.
• Contributes to the creative development of video projects.
• Adheres to the MBC’s brand guidelines and style guide.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Diploma in ICT/Computer Science
• MSCE holders with a minimum of three years working experience will also be considered
• Proficiency in industry-standard video editing software applications such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Avid Media Composer, Final Cut Pro
• Creative mindset and attention to detail
• Experience with motion graphics and animation is an added advantage
• Practical knowledge of the creation and management of TV virtual (computer-generated environments) sets
• Knowledge of different video formats and codecs.
