Ministry Of Water And Sanitation
A Call For Application For Short Term Engagement Of
“young Professionals” Under Malawi Resilience And Disaster Risk Management Project (Mrdrmp) And Malawi Watershed Services Improvement Project (Mwasip)

The Government of the Republic of Malawi through the Ministry of Water and Sanitation with support from the World Bank is implementing a program to address climate change vulnerability, land, and forestry degradation, and resuscitate the delivery of watershed services which have become critical and continue to seriously affect crucial sectors such as agriculture, water and energy which have a bearing on the country’s economy. The program which involves two projects namely Malawi Watershed Services Improvement Project (MWASIP) and Malawi Resilience and Disaster Risk Management Project (MRDRMP) is being implemented through a multi-sectoral approach whereby individual project components, subcomponents and activities are implemented through relevant Ministries, Departments, and
Agencies (MDAs). A Program Management Unit (PMU) was setup having considered the complexity and diverse nature of the project activities and putting more focus on delivery of project objectives rather that sector based.

The PMU is responsible for the overall coordination and management of the project, including planning, procurement, communication, financial management, implementation of Environmental and Social standards, and results monitoring and evaluation.

An opportunity has risen for short term (maximum 1 year) engagement of “Young Professional” on volunteer basis under various units within the PMU to support the implementation of project activities as this has been provided for under the two projects and build capacity of the young professionals in the country as follows.
