TITLE: Water Resources Management and Climate Specialist

REPORTS TO: Director of Influence and Scale

SUPERVISORY DUTIES : None

POSITION OBJECTIVE:

Reporting directly to the Director of Influence and Scale, the Water Resources Management and Climate Specialist assists with developing, communicating, executing, and sustaining water resources management (WRM) and Climate initiatives across the Malawi Country Program.A focus on WRM and responding more directly to the climate emergency is urgent to meet the ambition of our Destination 2030 strategy, from both an impact and revenue perspective. WRM is a key building block of water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH)systems and is at the heart of climate adaptation. WASH services will not be sustainable, and communities will not be resilient without focused and innovative climate action that considers our role in mitigation (reduction in emissions) and adaptation (strengthening community resilience to changes that cannot be undone).

The Water Resources Management and Climate Specialist will work closely with Government and other key stakeholders from both the conservation and WASH sides to promote the implementation of good practices for management and protection of water resources and adapting to climate change. She/He will lead the coordination of the flagship Blantyre Mulanje Water Fund.
