Mwandama Cooperative Union is an Agricultural establishment in the Southern Region of Malawi, Zomba District. The Union is inviting applications from qualified candidates for the following positions:

Veterinary Officer

Education qualifications

  • Minimum of a Diploma in Veterinary Science or Diploma in Animal Health from a recognized
    institution. Those with a Degree will have an added advantage.
  • Candidates with Artificial Insemination qualification will have an added advantage

Responsibilities

Report directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and be responsible for delivering quality extension
services on animal health and livestock production.

Your role will focus on the following;

  • Conducting artificial insemination and providing expertise on livestock breeding .
  • Collaborating with farmer groups such as Village Livestock Development Committees (LDCs) and Milk Bulking Groups (MBGs)
  • Interacting closely with the District Animal Health and Livestock Development
    Officer (DAHLD) in implementing livestock development policies
  • Conducting On Farm Demonstrations (OFDs) on standard housing and feed formulations
