Lilongwe Handling Company Limited (LIHACO) is a wholly Malawi Government owned commercial entity established in 2000. The core business of the company is to provide Airport Ground Handling and Travel Services to airlines and the travelling public at Chileka and Kamuzu International Airports.
The Company is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the following vacant positions at its Head office at Kamuzu International Airport and Chileka International Airport.
Post: Transport Controller
Responsible to: Maintenance and Transport Manager
Responsible for: Senior Driver
Purpose
To ensure that vehicles/GSE are available to timely transport staff, passengers, baggage, cargo and mail.
Main Duties
(1) Initiating the development and review of transport policies, regulations.
(2) Administering transport allocation to staff
(3) Checking roadworthy of vehicles and GSE.
(4) Transporting staff, passengers, baggage, cargo and mail.
(5) Checking and reconciling vehicle mileage to fuel consumption
(6) Reporting vehicle/GSE faults, incidents and accidents.
(7) Compiling periodic reports on vehicles, tools and GSE
(8) Allocating work and appraising staff.
(9) Identifying and reporting hazards
Education Qualification
- Diploma in Transport Logistics
Work Experience
- At least four (4) years experience.
