The Tea Research Foundation of Central Africa (TRFCA) seeks to recruit a suitably qualified person to fill a vacant position of Trainee Scientist – Agronomy
Main duties and responsibilities

Initiating and developing research projects within the approved research areas
-
Conducting assigned research experiments using appropriate designs and procedures
-
Collating and analyzing research data and writing technical reports
-
Publishing research results in TRFCA publications and peer-reviewed scientific journals
-
Assist in training of tea growers on various aspects of tea production
-
Conduct field inspections, supervision and training of technical support staff
-
Manage the TRFCA tea nursery and non-experimental tea fields
-
Prepare annual work plans and budgets for assigned research projects/activities
Qualifications and Key Competences
-
Bachelor of Science in Crop Sciences with a major in Agronomy, Horticulture or other related disciplines. Relevant post-qualification experience will be an added advantage

Ability to learn, plan and carry out research with minimum supervision

Excellent report writing and communication skills
-
Good knowledge of scientific procedures and principles of experimentation

Ability to use statistical packages, Microsoft Word, Excel and Power point
-
Candidates shall be no older than 30 years
