Zomba City Council is inviting applications from suitably qualified Malawians for the vacant post of Temporary Revenue Collectors (Grade M/10) existing at Zomba City Council:
POST:Temporary Revenue Collector (1 year Contract)
GRADE:Grade 10
Qualifications:
Applicants must have a minimum of Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) plus certificate in Accounting obtained from any recognized institution.
KEY DUTIES
1. Collect revenues of various forms from city tax payers and other revenue streams of the Council.
2. Account for the revenues collected by making use of appropriate cashbook used or recording all the revenue collected.
3.Make periodical remittance of all revenue collected to central office cashier.
4.Receive all necessary receipt and other revenue related books from central office for use in his/her area office duties.
5. Produce periodic revenue reports as per his or her assignment.
6.Work hand in hand with other stakeholder especially the business community and other city subordinate governance structures in all matters affecting revenue collection.
7. Issue licenses, invoices and make follow ups on debtors.
8. And any other duties assigned by his or her supervisor from time to time.
