POSITION : Team Leader-Contracts Officer

Grade : D1

Organisational Unit : Supply Chain Management

Reporting To : Contracts Manager

Duty Station : Head Office

Job Type : Full-time

 

MAIN FUNCTION
To ensure that contracts are conducted in compliance with their terms and conditions, while adopting best practices in contract management to obtain value for money
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
  • Supervising contract drafting process in consultation with Legal division
  • Coordinating the provision of design and monitoring functions for preparation and implementation of procurement contracts.
  • Monitoring progress in the implementation of procurement contracts including determination of extent of performance accomplishment.
  • Supervising contract implementation work plan and schedule and supervising contract variations, contract suspension and termination processes.
  • Preparing periodic reports on implementation and performance of contracts.
  • Submitting progress reports to Contract Manager (CM) on status of transactions submitted for further contract vetting and approval to other Government agencies.
  • Reporting to CM on status of contracts awarded and on completed contracts.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
  • A minimum of Bachelor’s Degree of Procurement & Logistics/ Supply Chain Management or Graduate/Professional Diploma in Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS).
  • Those with a Master’s Degree in Procurement, Logistics or Supply Chain Management will have an added advantage.
  • Must be duly registered with the Malawi Institute of Procurement and Supply (MIPS)
  • Applicants must demonstrate knowledge and experience in procurement of works and monitoring of works projects.
  • Good knowledge of the Public Procurement legal framework.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in a similar role.

Successful candidates before being appointed will undergo an extensive background check of their integrity and conduct. The Authority will make an offer only if the vetting results are favourable.
