HOPE FOR CHANGE MALAWI

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

Hope for change Malawi is a non-governmental organisation situated in area 23, an urban area of Lilongwe, Malawi. The organisation aims to realise a positive change in academic development in urban areas of Malawi in so doing minimizing poverty, early marriage, juvenile delinquency and unlocking talents throughout all urban areas. This is done through provision of high quality education to children in urban areas of Malawi who are unable to continue with their education beyond primary school due to exposure to vulnerable condition that jeopardise their continuity with education.
Hope for change Malawi gets some of its funds from internal source which is through secondary and primary schools.

The organisation through secondary and primary schools is inviting application in the following existing posts

1. Language and Humanity Secondary Teachers

DUTIES

  • Prepare schemes of work
  • Prepare lesson plans
  • Teacher learners in secondary school
  • Prepare learning and teaching materials
  • Set, check, and mark exercise, tests and examination
  • Maintain attendance and performance register books of learners
  • Maintain discipline of learners in his or her class/section
  • Carry out other duties assigned time to time

REQUIREMENTS

  • Applicants must have a bachelor’s of in languages or humanities or any other related degree.
  • Mentally healthy and of a sound mind
  • Knowledge in ICT will be added advantage

2. Science teachers (Chemistry and Physics)

Primary School Teachers

DUTIES

  • Prepare schemes of work
  • Prepare lesson plans
  • Teacher learners in secondary school
  • Prepare learning and teaching materials
  • Set, check, and mark exercise, tests and examination
  • Maintain attendance and performance register books of learners
  • Maintain discipline of learners in his or her class/section
  • Carry out other duties assigned time to time

REQUIREMENTS

  • Applicants must have a bachelor’s d

  • Applicants must have a minimum qualification of professional teaching certificate from a Malawi government recognized institution.
  • Mentally healthy and of a sound mind
  • Knowledge in ICT will be added advantage

4. Nursery Teacher

DUTIES

  • Maintaining a safe environment for learners by enforcing safety regulations
  • Enforcing rules for discipline
  • Providing opportunities for children to develop socially emotionally
  • Assisting with daily routine such as changing diapers or bathing children
  • Observing children to assess their social, emotional, physical, and intellectual development
  • Helping children develop their cognitive skills through activities such as reading books and finger plays
  • Planning and implementing age appropriate activities and lessons that meet each child’s needs and interest
  • Assessing students’ progress and communicating with parents through the director about any issues that may arise

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Applicants must have a minimum certificate in early childhood education or a related field
  • Malawi school certificate of education
