Job Description and Personal Specification

Job Title: Teacher of Physics and Mathematics
Job Type: Full-time
Responsible to: Head of Department
Responsible for: Teaching Physics and Mathematics from Form 1 – 5.

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated physics and math teacher to join our teaching staff.
The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching physics and mathematics in both the
MANEB and Cambridge IGCSE curriculums in both Junior and Senior classes.

 

 

Responsibilities:

– Plan and deliver engaging and interactive lessons that meet the needs of a diverse group of
students
– Assess and evaluate student progress, providing feedback and support to help students reach their
full potential
– Collaborate with other teachers and administrators to develop and implement instructional
strategies that support student learning
– Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in
teaching physics and math
– Attend and participate in regular meetings
– Fulfil necessary administrative tasks as directed by the HoDs and other managers
– Invigilate exams when required
– Mark students work and give appropriate and timely feedback to students
– Provide objective and accurate feedback to staff on student’s achievements and write quality
subject reports when requested
– Record progress and attainment of students
– Support in the supervision of students while they complete relevant assessments
– Support students’ access to learning using appropriate strategies and resources
– Track progress and attainment and recommend interventions and record impact

Requirements:

– Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in physics, math, or a related field
– 3+ years of teaching experience (preferred)
– Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with students and colleagues
– Experience in teaching Cambridge IGCSE curriculum will be an added advantage
