Malawi Institute of Tourism
Malawi Institute of Tourism (MIT) is a leading tourism and hospitality training and educational Institution in Malawi with training campuses in Blantyre, Lilongwe and Mzuzu. The Institute also runs three application hotels, namely Alendo hotel in Blantyre, Lingadzi Inn in Lilongwe and Mzuzu Lodge.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Build, configure and monitor servers
- Implement a variety of networks in relation to the organisational needs
- Developing systems, testing the systems, deploying systems and facilitating data entry
- Managing the client support desk where problems shall be diagnosed and fixed
- Maintaining standards compliance
- Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies
- Making presentations to students, client audiences and professional peers
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Technology
- Other related IT professional certifications will be a plus
Technical Experience
- Proven working experience in installing, configuring and troubleshooting UNIX /Linux based environments.
- Experience in the administration and performance tuning of application stacks (e.g.,Apache, Ruby, NGINX)
- Cloud experience
- Scripting skills (e.g., shell scripts, Perl, Ruby, Python)
- Networking knowledge (OSI network layers, TCP/IP
