The Malawi Agricultural and Industrial Investment Corporation (MAIIC) Plc is a local development finance institution (DFI) incorporated in November 2018 under the Company’s Act of 2013. The company was established to bridge the long-term financing gap in Malawi and spearhead private sector development.
MAIIC is a commercially oriented DFI set up to play a leading role in socio-economic development in the country.
Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to fill the following position:
Position Summary
The Systems Administrator is responsible for monitoring maintaining and generating performance metrics about the entire IT infrastructure for MAIIC, reporting to Senior ICT Manager.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Install, configure, monitor, and report on status of software, hardware, and networks
  • Implement, monitor, and report about status of security and efficiency of the IT infrastructure.
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues.
  • Identify system requirements and install upgrades.
  • Monitor and manage MAIIC website and social sites
  • Create and manage backups and data restores
  • Create, monitor, and report about status of employee accounts
  • Track emerging technologies and make recommendations to Senior ICT Manager
  • Implementation and management of enterprise servers, including Active directory.
  • Management and enforcement of security, network, and group policies on the network.
  • Implementation and management of network security software and devices consisting of routers, switches, antivirus, firewalls, cryptographic systems, antispam software, and a patch management system.
  • Any other relevant duties as assigned from time to time.
Skills and Qualifications
  • At least a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or any related qualification.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a busy office.
  • Experience within the financial services industry will be an added advantage.
  • Experience working with core banking systems.
  • Experience with web technologies
  • Knowledge of different operating systems (Microsoft, Unix, Linux.)
  • Basic programming skills.
  • Knowledge of computer hardware.
  • Proven experience with enterprise LAN, WAN, VPNs.
  • Understanding of firewalls, proxies, SIEM, antivirus, IPS and IDPS concepts.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Critical thinking
  • Ability to solve problems under pressure.
