
Central Medical Stores Trust (CMST)
The Central Medical Stores Trust (CMST) is responsible for procurement, warehousing, sales and distribution of quality and affordable medicines and medical supplies to public health facilities and others affiliated to the Government of Malawi through the Ministry of health in Malawi. The CMST seeks to recruit staff in various positions which have fallen vacant within its establishment as follows:
JOB TITLE: SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR
GRADE: MS5
RESPONSIBLE TO: INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY MANAGER (MS3)
LOCATION: HEAD OFFICE, LILONGWE
RESPONSIBLE FOR: installation, maintenance, configuration and repair of servers, networks and other computer systems within the Trust.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Managing Windows Domain Controllers, File Servers, Linux Web, Proxy Servers;
- Generating reports as instructed by the ICT Manager for wide dissemination within and outside Trust;
- Managing Windows SQL server and MySQL databases;
- Managing Ms Dynamic ERP System;
- Managing a dynamic website for the Trust;
- Programming activities in various languages e.g. PHP, Java/ JavaScript, C#, Perl, CGI scripting with capability of shell scripting language to reduce manual activities;
- Managing Public Automatic Exchange (PABX) Telephone system;
- Troubleshooting any hardware and software issues for effective operations;
- Managing Anti-virus and ensure that all computers are up-to-date;
- Verfying that all users have a genuine operating system;
- Working hand in hand with ICT Officers in producing reports for management’s decision;
- Planning and conducting ICT training for other CMST staff;
Academic and Professional Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Sciences or ICT obtained from a recognised and reputable institution of learning.
- Membership to an ICT body is a must
Experience and Skills
- Three years of progressive experience in a similar position in a busy environment;
- Ability to work in a team;
- Excellent analytical and aptitude skills;
- Ability to work under strict deadlines;
- Ability to undertake multiple and simultaneous but related tasks
