JOB ADVERTISEMENT PERMANENT EMPLOYMENT CONTRACT

The Lilongwe Water Board is a Statutory Corporation established in 1947 and re- constituted under the Water Works Act (Cap 72). It is responsible for the provision of water supply and Waterborne sanitation services to the City of Lilongwe and surrounding areas designated as its supply area. The Board is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates of Malawian origin to fill the vacant positions on permanent basis.

STORES ASSISTANT (Grade LWB 8)

Reporting to the Senior Stores Assistant the Stores Assistant will be responsible for the following:

Key Duties and Responsibilities

a) Maintaining adequate inventory levels
b) Receiving of inventory according to set inventory policy
c) Issuing inventory
d) Timely updating and capturing inventory records into accounting system
e) Conducting stock taking and carrying out inventory reconciliations
f) Preparing various stores reports
g) Identifying obsolete and redundant items for timely management action
h) Demonstrating outstanding commitment to service delivery programs of the Board by personally
identifying and reporting water bursts/leakages to customer care division of which verifiable
repair records shall be tendered to be used as one of the components for assessment during
one’s performance appraisal time.

Minimum Qualification and Work Experience

A minimum of a Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) plus Advanced Diploma in
Procurement and Supply CIPS Level 5 or its equivalent with two (2) years post-qualification
experience in stores management.
