Local Government Service Commission is inviting applications from the suitably qualified Malawians for the following vacancies existing at Lilongwe District Council’s Establishment.
POST: SPORTS OFFICER
GRADE: 1
SALARY: Within the Grade I salary scale segment
QUALIFICATION:
Applicants must be serving Senior Assistant Sports Officer (Grade J) with a minimum of four (4) years’ experience at that grade or serving Assistant Sports Officer (Grade K) in possession of Bachelor’s Degree in Community Development or non-serving candidates with Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Management, or Sports Science, obtained from a recognized and Accredited University.
Purpose:
Provide technical information and advice on sports and recreation programs
Duties and Responsibilities
a) Facilitate implementation of community, school Sport and Physical Education programs;
b) Plan and initiate sports training programmes;
c) Facilitate procurement and distribution of sports equipment;
d) Handle disciplinary sports cases;
e) Conduct needs assessment for administrative capacity building;
f) Keep Sports Data Base using updated information and communication technology equipment;
g) Assess usage and conditions of sports and recreational facilities;
h) Prepare annual sports budget;
i) Provide technical expertise to management of sports and recreation facilities and programs;
j) Develop sports work plans;
k) Perform any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
