Position: Site Supervisor (1)

Location: Lilongwe

Reporting to: Contract Manager

The Site Supervisor plays a pivotal role in the construction and maintenance sectors, serving as the linchpin that ensures projects are executed efficiently, safely, and within budget. The primary responsibility of a Site Supervisor is to oversee the daily operations on the site, ensuring all work is done according to plan and upholding the highest standards of quality and safety. This position requires a proactive approach to managing workers, coordinating tasks, and resolving issues that may arise during operations.

Job Description

We are currently seeking an experienced Site Supervisor to oversee and manage our construction projects from inception to completion. Your role will involve ensuring that all onsite activities comply with regulations and standards, promoting safety, and delivering quality workmanship on time and within budget. Responsibilities

• Managing and instructing the site workers, setting their schedules, and monitoring their performance.

• Conducting regular site inspections and addressing any potential hazards immediately.

• Maintaining accurate records of employee attendance, site activities, and progress reports.

• Collaborating with project managers, engineers, and architects to ensure that all activities align with the project plan.

• Ordering and managing the inventory of construction materials to ensure a steady supply without excessive overstock.

• Problem-solving and troubleshooting any issues that may interrupt the timeline or budget of the project.

• Supervise and manage all day-to-day operations on the construction site.

• Coordinate subcontractors and the construction team to meet contractual conditions of performance.

• Review work progress on a daily basis and ensure timely project delivery.

• Enforce strict safety guidelines and company standards.

• Resolving onsite conflicts and handle any emergencies that may arise.

• Communicate effectively with the project stakeholders and clients.

• Maintain detailed and accurate site reports and documentation.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Site Supervisor or in a similar role in construction.

• Strong knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and site management.

• A high school diploma or equivalent; however, a bachelor’s degree in construction management, civil engineering, or related field is often preferred Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to remain calm and focused under pressure.

• Proficient in MS Office and relevant software.

• Certification in site management and safety training.
