Role Overview:

As a Settlement Officer at PayChangu, you will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end settlement process of all transactions processed through our payment systems. You will ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with regulatory standards, playing a critical role in maintaining the trust and reliability of our services.

 

Key Responsibilities:

1. Transaction Reconciliation: Perform daily reconciliation of transactions between PayChangu’s systems and partner banks and MNOs. Identify and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.

2. Settlement Processing: Ensure accurate and timely settlement of all payment transactions. Coordinate with partner financial institutions to facilitate smooth settlement operations.

3. Compliance and Reporting: Prepare and submit regulatory and internal reports as required. Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and standards.

4. Data Management: Maintain accurate records of all settlement transactions. Utilize financial software and tools to track and manage settlement activities.

5. Customer Support: Address and resolve settlement-related inquiries from clients and partners. Provide exceptional customer service to enhance client satisfaction.

6. Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for improving settlement processes and implement solutions. Collaborate with IT and operations teams to optimize system performance.

 

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.

• Experience: At least 2 years of experience in a financial operations or settlement role, preferably within the payment services industry.

• Skills:o Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy. Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.

 

Preferred Attributes:

• Knowledge of payment systems and financial regulations in Malawi.

• Experience with reconciliation and settlement processes in a financial institution.

• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
