Job Title: Senior Medical Officer
Grade: H
Reporting to: The Hospital Director
Location: Embangweni Mission Hospital
MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provision of comprehensive medical care
- Planning and assessing the work of Clinical Staff
- Monitoring quality and appropriateness of medical care
- Providing guidance and leadership for performance
- Collaboration with the health care teams
- Performing normal surgical procedures
- Planning and managing health centre supervisory visits
- Managing clinical peer review
- Overseeing documentation and care planning
- Supervising, aggregating, analyzing and interpreting data
- Being a resource person for Clinical staff
- Managing community relations
- Resource mobilisation to ensure effective and efficient operations of the department
- Conducting refresher courses & CPDs for Clinical and health care staff
- Conducting appraisals for clinical staff
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of MBBS from recognised institution
- Must be registered with medical council of Malawi
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
- At least two years’ relevant experience
- Good Communication skills
- Ability to work under minimum supervision
- Team Player
- Must be a devoted Christian
