The Central Medical Stores Trust (CMST) is responsible for procurement, warehousing, sales and distribution of quality medicines and medical supplies to all public health facilities in Malawi. To effectively meet its mandate, the CMST seeks to fill vacant positions, with persons with strong proven passion for good corporate governance, a high measure of tested financial and moral integrity and free from past convictions by a court of law of criminal offences as follows:
JOB TITLE : SENIOR INTERNAL AUDITOR
GRADE : MS4
REPORTING TO : INTERNAL AUDIT MANAGER (MS3)
LOCATION : HEAD OFFICE- LILONGWE
OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
To carry out internal auditing works of all Trust operations and activities.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Reviewing audit policies for the Trust;
- Scheduling audits, determines the resources that are necessary, and seeing that the approved audit plan is accomplished to the extent staffing allows;
- Reviewing the strategic priorities and activities of CMST to assess and identify potential risks;
- Preparing annual audit plan according to the risks identified using risk management framework;
- Carrying out value adding and risk-based audits in all functions and facilities at least once a year to verify adherence to CMST policies and procedures and laws and regulations of Malawi;
- Undertaking investigations on frauds and irregularities at management request and follow up on regular audit findings;
- Evaluating the efficiency of controls and recommend improvement;
- Following-up audits on audit findings to ensure that corrective action has been taken;
- Conducting risk assessment for planned audits;
- Supervising internal auditors.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Internal Audit, Finance or Accounting with a professional qualification in ACCA, CA, CPA, CIA or equivalent, and membership to Institute of Internal Auditors.
Experience and Skills:
Three (3) years of post-qualification audit experience at supervisory level.
