Job Description

Innovations for Poverty Action seeks a Learning and Development Associate (LDA) or Senior Associate to support its staff development initiatives. At a time of growth for the L&D function within IPA, this person will coordinate and help develop a wide range of synchronous and asynchronous initiatives for IPA’s diverse global teams. They will apply exemplary administrative and communication skills, along with a background in adult learning, to make IPA’s L&D offerings robust and easy to navigate. The LDA is responsible for coordinating annual mandatory training and staff certifications, maintaining records, and compiling reports and statistics on learning and development programs. Their perspective will help shape the growth opportunities IPA creates for its staff.

Compensation:

IPA’s compensation structure is designed based on the labor market for the specific geographic location where the employee is located. We are offering the following salary ranges for this position:
– (Senior) Associate, Learning & Development is classified as “C1” on IPA’s global job structure.
– For US based employees the starting annual gross salary is $53,882 with a maximum of $70,000
– The salary for locations outside of the US will vary depending on IPA’s salary scale ranges for that specific location.

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, base salary of internal peers, business sector, and geographic location.

Responsibilities

  • Supports the delivery of (semi-)synchronous L&D programs (including both trainer-led courses and mentorship/peer-learning programs) across the organization by coordinating and executing program logistics and communication.
  • Manages ongoing administration of and updates to IPA’s e-learning platform and courses.
  • Manages communication with staff via customer support, newsletter drafting, and other channels.
  • Collaborates with internal teams to develop and improve learning materials. Reviews existing learning materials on a regular basis for quality assurance, relevance, and continuous improvement.
  • Tracks, analyzes, and reports on data related to learning participation and investment.
  • Liaises with multiple learning partners including managers and training vendors.
  • Leads/participates in additional projects based on interests, specialties, and organizational needs.

Qualifications

  • Advanced-to-Bachelor’s and/or post-secondary degree or diploma in Human Resources, Instructional Design, Adult Education, or other related field 2+ years of experience working in an administrative capacity
  • 2+ years of experience designing and implementing learning solutions as a teacher, trainer, instructional designer, etc.
  • Capacity to plan and be organized, have consistent attention to detail, and manage multiple workstreams simultaneously
  • Quick to learn, motivated to self-teach, and capable of independently translating new knowledge into practice
  • Excellent English verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to distill complex subject matter into a format and level of complexity that fits the audience.
  • Willingness to learn new technical systems through practice
  • Ability to collaborate remotely with colleagues of varying seniority levels and functional roles Proficiency with the Google and Microsoft Office Suites

Preferred:

  • Fluent speaking and writing skills in Spanish and/or French (strongly preferred)
  • Experience with data analysis and visualization
  • Experience with learning management system (LMS) management Demonstrated expertise in learning-related technical skills, including video/audio editing and Articulate 360 (or similar e-learning design tools)
  • Experience in the international development and/or NGO sector
