JOB DESCRIPTION
The Opportunity Save the Children has raised the profile of advocacy, communication, campaign and media in the new global 2022-2024 strategic plan to achieve results for children. Through advocacy and campaigns with and for children, we aim to remove barriers that prevent children from surviving, learning and being protected so that every child can reach their full potential. We advocate for government to take the necessary action needed to accelerate progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals, for the realisation of all children’s rights set in the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, so that no child is left behind. In line with the Country Office’s Strategic Plan, the Senior ACCM Manager will support the implementation of Save the Children Malawi’s ACCM strategy to advance Save the Children’s policy positions and influence decision-makers, both at national and international levels to shape and implement Save the Children’s efforts to influence and bring about change in awareness, attitudes, behaviour and policies for lasting changes to full fill children’s rights in Malawi. The position is will help strengthen business partnership and linkages between ACCM, Operations, Program Development and Quality (PDQ) internally, and with relevant partners externally to build advocacy capacity and ownership among staff through linkages between evidence generation, advocacy, campaign, communications and media work. It will also strengthen team work around the ACCM structure for enhanced coordination, and delivery of ACCM interventions; help transform mind-set of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and partners to approach ACCM as mainstream programmatic intervention. This role is for a period of twelve (12) months with a possibility of extension.
