Background
Based on its operational requirements, Farmers World Holdings wishes to recruit a highly motivated and suitably qualified individual to fill the following existing vacancy which is tenable at its Farmers World Holdings Office in Lilongwe.
Position Purpose
To manage financial processes, including performance measures, cost analysis, strategy tracking, forecasts, budget analysis, inventory optimization, reconciliations, and financial reporting, to optimize resource allocation and achieve organizational objectives efficiently.
Main duties
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to review and revise standard costing methods and models, ensuring they accurately reflect current operational realities and support effective cost management strategies.
· Conduct detailed inventory ledger analysis to reconcile physical inventory counts with financial records, identifying discrepancies and ensuring accuracy in inventory valuation and financial reporting.
· Develop and implement cost control measures to optimize material usage and minimize waste, contributing to cost reduction initiatives and enhancing overall profitability.
· Develop and implement life cycle cost analysis methodologies to evaluate the total costs associated with products from inception through disposal, providing insights into profitability and informing strategic decisions on product development and pricing.
· Maintain and update material categories and cost classifications to ensure accurate inventory valuation and cost management, supporting effective budgeting and financial reporting processes.
· Monitor and track the performance of new product strategies by analyzing financial metrics and cost implications, facilitating informed decision-making and alignment with organizational goals and market demands.
· Prepare activity-based performance measures to assess the efficiency of cost allocation methods across different operational activities, ensuring resources are optimally utilized and costs are accurately attributed
· Prepare cost variance analysis reports to identify reasons for discrepancies between standard and actual costs, supporting management in making informed decisions to improve cost efficiency.
· Track and analyze forecasts and budgets to compare actual financial performance against projections, identifying variances and trends to guide resource allocation and improve financial planning accuracy.
· Conduct production cost analysis and variance assessments to identify cost drivers, improve efficiency, and implement corrective actions.
· Prepare monthly financial forecasts and produce accurate plant financial reports to support strategic decision making and resource allocation.
· Monitor, analyze, and optimize plant inventory while implementing strategies to minimize stock outs, reduce carrying costs, and improve cash flow.
· Collaborate with production and procurement teams to develop budgetary controls, support cost reduction initiatives, and optimize purchasing decisions.
· Reconcile month-end production inventories and monitor plant profit and loss to ensure financial accuracy, compliance, and profitability improvement.
· Identify opportunities for process optimization, cost reduction, and efficiency improvements within the Finance function.
· Provide financial insights and recommendations based on inventory and cost accounting analyses, supporting strategic decision-making processes and continuous improvement initiatives to achieve organizational objectives.
· Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, safety protocols, and industry standards to maintain a safe working environment for staff and prevent accidents or injuries.
· Ensure the upkeep of EHSS (Environmental, Health, Safety, and Sustainability) policies and procedures within the Organization.
Desirable Qualifications, Work experience and Personal Specifications
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting
· 3- 5 Years Experience, including a track record of 2 years in a technical position
· Strong problem-solving skills and Reasoning
· Excellent communication and presentation abilities
· Strong analytical skills
· Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
· Excellent organizational skills

· Strong verbal and written communication skills
