A vacancy has arisen in our organisation for the position of Seasonal Groundnut Buying Clerks.

Reporting to the Groundnut Buying and Sales Controller, the Groundnut Buying Clerks are responsible for buying, capturing and reconciling groundnut sales data during all the groundnut buying processes for Integrated Production System (IPS) growers and Contract Marketing suppliers.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Groundnut buying and Payments

  • Facilitates the physical groundnut buying process for contract market Suppliers at
    buying centres following the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
  • Captures buying data at designated buying points using the required system following the SOP.
  • Ensures payment receipts are prepared and processed for payment.
  • Supports in organising buying schedules for contract market suppliers.
  • Supports in capturing buying data for IPS growers.
  • Ensures all buying equipment is operational, secure and ready for use at all times.

2. Data Reconciliation, Truckload creation and Record keeping

  • Reconciles bags on Nut In Shell (NIS) trucks arriving at the warehouse against physical documents.
  • Reconciles physical stock of contract marketing NIS in the warehouse against physical documents.
  • Creates truckloads for all groundnuts arriving at the warehouse following the SOP.
  • Liaises with the field team on issues related to the delivery of NIS at the warehouse.
  • Ensures buying documents are well filed and kept safe at the warehouse.

3. Reporting

  • Identifies and timely reports all system related issues to responsible personnel.
  • Identifies and timely reports buying related issues to the responsible personnel.
  • Prepares weekly and monthly reports.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • University Diploma or Degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration, or Accounting
  • 2 years experience in data capturing, buying or sales or accounting work is essential
  • Experience in working with the International Farmer Accounting System (IFAS) is desirable

Person Specification:

  • Good interpersonal, communication, problem solving, analytical, and computer skills
  • Self driven, disciplined and motivated.
  • Willing to work and stay in remote areas
