Greenbelt Authority (GBA) is a Government of Malawi statutory corporation established under the Greenbelt Act No.23 of July 2017 to champion large scale commercial irrigation farming in Malawi.
GBA now invites applications to fill the following vacancies:
Job Title: Scheme Engineer
Grade: GBA 5
Reporting to: Infrastructure Development Managor

PURPOSE
To advise Management on the commercial viability of agricultural land at the Greenbelt Authority schemes and oversee sustainable water, land management and administrative activities at the schemes from time to time.
MAIN DUTIES:
•Planning, designing, and overseeing construction of irrigation systems at the Authority’s schemes;
•Supervising irrigation systems and farm structure maintenance at the schemes
•Reviewing designs for the schemes and supervising the works at the schemes,
•Supporting consultants/contractors in fulfillment of their assignments at the schemes;
•Monitoring irrigation schedules at the schemes;
•Assisting in developing Budgets for the schemes,
•Coordinating maintenance of the tractor fleet and other farm equipment;
•Coordinating Tractor Hire Scheme services and ensuring Clients are served accordingly
•Supervising security personnel and plant operators and keeping records in an orderly manner.
•Carrying out any other relevant assignments of the Authority as directed from time to time.
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s Degree in Irrigation Engineering or Civil engineering with a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in Irrigation Development.
