Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons to fill the position of Sales Officer – North for NASFAM Commodity Marketing Exchange (NASCOMEX) Limited, the commercial arm of NASFAM.

The Sales Officer – North is responsible for developing sales opportunities and increasing sales revenues for NASFAM brands within the northern region

The position is based at NASCOMEX Offices in Mzuzu and reports to the Sales and Marketing Manager.

Specific duties and responsibilities include:

  1. Contribute to the development of annual sales quotas for the region leading to the development of annual sales targets and development of sales and distribution action plans for the region
  2. Identify and develop new profitable outlets within the northern region to increase sales revenue and support business growth.
  3. Liaise with and constantly be in contact with customers within the region to ensure that they are adequately stocked and that orders are collected on time to ensure consistent supply of NASFAM products.
  4. Take lead in driving all marketing campaigns and related activities for the northern region reaching out to target audience.
  5. Provide periodic updates and reports (daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly) using necessary templates on NASCOMEX sales operations to the Sales and Marketing Manager to assist in development of necessary sales and marketing reports and recommendations to management.

Experience and Qualification

  • The ideal candidate must have 5 years’ experience in similar field and a minimum qualification of first Degree in Marketing, Economics, Business Management or related field.

Key Competencies and Skills

  • Must have demonstrated experience in developing sales strategies and implementation of the same
  • Must have good negotiation skills
  • Must have the ability to develop sales and marketing plans and related budgets
  • Must be a highly self motivated person with a genuine drive to succeed
  • Must have excellent communication and presentation skills and the ability to interact with people at different levels and maintain client relationships
  • Must have the ability to understand and analyse latest marketing trends and propose changes to ensure that NASCOMEX products and commodities remain competitive.
  • Must be very organised and have the ability to prioritise high value activities and remain focused while working under pressure
  • Ability to use social media for marketing
  • Experience in fast moving consumer goods is an added advantage
