M-Unity SACCO is an affiliate of Malawi Union of Savings & Credit Cooperatives (MUSCCO)
Limited. It is Member owned and democratically controlled financial cooperative society that
is aimed at providing quality and affordable financial services to its members.

M-Unity SACCO invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the post of SACCO Manager to be based in Lilongwe.

THE POSITION
The manager will be reporting to M-Unity SACCO Board of Directors.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Preparation of annual, quarterly and monthly operational plans and budgets.
    • Check daily postings and transactions and
    • verify cash on hand.
    • Monitor, evaluate and control loan disbursements and repayments to prevent defaults.
    • Monitor maintenance of the Cashbook and reconciliation of monthly statements,
      ledgers and member accounts.
    • Prepare matching and cash liquidity reports and monitor deposits maturities for the
      SACCO and its members.
    • Monitor process of loan applications based on sound lending principles
    • Supervise all SACCO members of staff and work closely with Credit Committee.
    • Ensure safe custody of SACCO cheques, cash, passbooks and all controlled inventory and fixed assets.
    • Formulation and adherence to internal control systems, SACCO policies, procedures and guidelines and other statutory requirements and recommend improvements to the system.
    • Service SACCO committee meetings administered by the chapter and the Financial Institution’s Regulator.
    • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports for the Board
    • Facilitate annual audit activities and inspections.
    • Perform any other duties assigned by the SACCO Board of Directors from time to time.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

    • Candidate must have a Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Completion of part I of ACCA or Finance from an Academic Institution accredited by the National Council for
      higher Education (NCHE) or other similar internationally recognized authorities.
      Should be a registered member of ICAM or Institute of Auditors.
    • 3 Years of experience in SACCO system or any reputable financial institution will be a
      distinct advantage.
    • Excellent written and oral business communication and interpersonal skill.
    • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
    • High degree of integrity.
