We are registered with RBM and NGORA.

Job Summary:
We seek an experienced Risk and Compliance Officer to manage operational, financial, compliance, and strategic risks, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and internal policies.
Be able to comply with RBM regulations, must have ICT skills and accounting back ground, Must be able to facilitate new ventures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Risk Management: Identify, assess, and manage risks specific to microfinance
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant regulations
  • Policy Development: Develop, implement, and maintain internal risk management policies and controls
  • Reporting: Provide regular reports to senior management and regulatory bodies
  • Audits and Inspections: Coordinate internal and external audits
  • Training: Educate staff on risk and compliance issues
  • Incident Management: Lead investigations into risk events or compliance failures.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Law, Business Administration, Insurance, Risk Management, or related field
    3-5 years of experience in risk management or compliance, ideally within financial services or insurance
  • Experience in microfinance or insurance-specific regulatory frameworks desirable
  • Must be 32-45 years.

Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of financial risk models, compliance monitoring systems, and internal control frameworks
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to assess complex risks
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and collaborate across departments

Personal Attributes:

  • High attention to detail and proactive approach to risk identification
  • Strong ethical standards and understanding of governance and compliance culture
  • Problem-solving skills with focus on effective and compliant solutions.

Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of microfinance products and services, particularly those targeting low-income or underserved populations.
