POSITION : Revenue Officer

Grade : E3

Organisational Unit : Domestic Taxes

Reporting To : Manager Domestic Taxes

Duty Station : Various

Job Type : Full-time

 

Main Function
Managing the collection of taxes and compliance with tax laws and regulations.
Specific Duties
  • Identifying and registering new taxpayers, cleaning the tax registers.
  • Conducting physical and compliance surveillance and gathering information for new tax registration.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with tax payers through interactions, providing assistance and guidance regarding tax related matters.
  • Delivering a full range of tax services in compliance with tax laws and regulations within time frame.
  • Monitoring the submission of returns and payment of taxes for the relevant taxes ensuring that returns and payments are submitted and paid in time.
  • Processing tax refund claims for eligible taxpayers and ensuring timely disbursements of funds
  • Enforcing tax collection by identifying and pursuing defaulters issuing demand notices and taking appropriate actions for the recovery of outstanding taxes.
  • Conducting tax audits of individuals and businesses to verify the accuracy.
  • Resolving tax- related disputes and appeals filed by taxpayers through administrative procedures or legal channels.
  • Utilising data analytics to identify potential tax evasion and non-compliance patterns.
  • Any other duties assigned to from time to time.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Accounting, Finance   Business Administration, Law, Mathematics, Statistics Data Science / Analytics obtained from a recognized and accredited university.
