A Diplomatic Mission is seeking an individual for the post of
Residence Coordinator for its Official Residence
Posts Description
The Residence Coordinator is responsible for efficient and effective coordination of the Diplomatic
Mission’s official residence, supervising and managing 2 household staff, whilst ensuring good
morale.
This post involves working closely, under the supervision of the Residence Manager, with
Diplomats as well as individuals in the Executive office of the Diplomatic Mission to organize
events at the Residence for official guests, including visiting delegations and officers.
The Official Residence is the main venue for the government’s official/promotional activities,
including business meetings, hosting representational events. The Residence Coordinator needs
to be willing to work flexibly to plan and deliver events in the evenings and occasionally at
weekends. Work hours can sometimes be long and irregular.
Required Qualification
- Completion of High School, and completion of courses in hospitality and administration
is required. - Experience in hospitality/administrative field, including basic bookkeeping. Experience in
related domestic work environment is required. - Excellent communication skills, both written and oral fluency in English and Chichewa.
- Ability to understand and carry out verbal instructions on food-handling, safety, and
sanitary standards. - Basic knowledge of handling reception and special events.
- Cleans the residential homes and prepares for events.
