Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons of Malawi origin for the post of Research Fellow tenable at the Centre for Educational Research and Training (CERT) at the University of Malawi in Zomba.
Academic Qualifications
Applicants should have a PhD or strong Master’s Degree in Education or related fields from a recognized University. Those with a PhD will have an added advantage. They should have knowledge of the principles of research, a conceptual view of research, evaluation processes and management of projects. Applicants should also have skills and knowledge in both quantitative and qualitative data analysis.
Professional Qualifications
Applicants should have a strong background in educational research and should have proven experience in planning and implementing research projects and dissemination of research findings professionally. Applicants should also have work ethics essential in collaborative research.
Duties of Research Fellow
Successful candidates shall be expected to work hand in hand with the Centre’s Director and colleagues in designing, proposing and managing educational policy related research and other related activities; analyze and interpret educational data; report and disseminate results; and assist the Director in planning and developing training activities for prospective researchers and other educational personnel in specific areas of need. The candidate should be ready to discharge any other duties assigned to him/her from time to time.
