RESOURCES (LUANAR)

Vacancy Announcement: Research Assistants

Mobile Survey Services for the Southern Africa Accelerated Innovation Delivery Initiative (AID-I)

Digital Agricultural Advisory Services (DAAS) complementally that can increase the effectiveness of the role of extension in the agrifood systems and put information in the hands of farmers. Though multiple stakeholders have engaged in delivering DAAS, there remains several unknowns that need to be empirically unpacked to ensure that these systems are effective and do not exacerbate inequality and stifle access to agricultural extension. The Centre for Agricultural Research and Development (CARD) of the Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (LUANAR) is working with the CIMMYT and the ICRISAT to conduct a country-wide research-study to understand the effectiveness of the DAAS under the Accelerated Innovation Delivery Initiative (AID-I). The AID-I is a Feed the Future Project funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Department of State (DoS) and implemented in DRC, Malawi, Tanzania, and Zambia. Its goal is to ensure that farmers have at their fingertips the demanded information and innovations to enhance agrifood systems amidst escalating input prices and changing climate conditions through rapid delivery of agricultural advisories.

Thus, CARD is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates to be considered for the temporary positions of Research Assistants who will collect data for the Mobile Survey Services under the AID-I.
