WHO WE ARE:

Inter Aide is an association specialized in the implementation of rural development programs.
In 2023, Inter Aide is running 51 programs in seven countries (Ethiopia, Guinea, Haiti, Malawi,
Madagascar, Mozambique and Sierra Leone). In Malawi, Inter Aide has been working with
particularly poor rural communities since 1992. The association is present in 10 of the country’s
28 districts in the Central and Southern regions, with interventions around Health, Water points
Maintenance and Agricultural development. Inter Aide is looking for qualified candidates to fill
two vacant positions based in Lilongwe (Malawi) with occasional travels to rural areas.

REGIONAL FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATION OFFICER

THE MISSION

The Regional Finance and Administration Officer will be based in Lilongwe (Malawi) with occasional travel to rural areas and/or headquarters in rural areas in Malawi, in other countries and/or at headquarters in France.

Together with the sector managers and the other administrative and financial managers in the sector (Mozambique and Guinea), he/she will be responsible for the financial consolidation and management control of the programs. He/she will actively participate in the development of program financing with international funders.

His/her main responsibilities will be as follows:

  • Carrying out regular financial management controls in intervention countries, and in consultation with the donor platform;
  • Providing financial training and ongoing monitoring of field managers;
  • Support local teams in drawing up and monitoring annual and monthly budgets;
  • Management of monthly remittances, budget monitoring;
  • Follow-up of purchasing, logistics and human resources procedures.
  • Cost analysis and resource allocation;
  • Development and monitoring of institutional and private international funding;
  • Monitor project procedures: accounting, purchasing, IT, banking, etc. Optimization and risk
    analysis;
  • Support for the head of the Lilongwe Support Office in internal auditing and cross-project
    procedures;

REQUIRED PROFILE

  • Master Degree or higher in Business Management,Finance, or Accounting,
  • At least two years of prior professional experience on a similar scale in areas of management,
    financial control, auditing, etc.
  • Excellent command of Microsoft Excel/Word,
  • Experience in business database management is an advantage.
  • Genuine motivation for the association’s objectives
  • Thoroughness, interest in figures, ability to analyse financial data
  • Good interpersonal skills, initiative, ability to meet deadlines
  • Fluent in spoken and written English. Although not compulsory, French is an added advantage.
