Save the Children

The Malawi Economic Justice Network is a Leading coalition of over 100 civil society organizations in Malawi whose main objective is promoting pro-poor and participatory good economic governance in Malawi. Major MEJN work involves public policy analysis and monitoring of the national budget while ensuring that government and donor policies focus on the majority poor and that citizens including children get the maximum social-economic support in all government/state and donor programmes.
MEJN with support from Save the Children secured a project entitled Child Rights and Governance (CRG) that aims at safeguarding a strong government system (policies, structures and institutions) which is accountable, responsive, inclusive and transparent in respecting, protecting and fulfilling the rights for all boys and girls including those with diverse needs. This is in-line with a new 5-year NORAD Framework Agreement funded programme called “Tikwaniritse ndi Kuteteza Ma Ufulu
a Ana (TiKuMA).” This programme will be implemented in the Balaka and Mchinji districts. The project intends to achieve the following outcomes:

Amplified children’s voices and actions in various spheres at all levels; Improved compliance by the state with child rights international, regional and domestic obligations; Increased allocation and spending for childresponsive programs; and Increased responsiveness and accountability of the private sector in advancing and promoting child rights. A five-year project will be implemented in Mchinji and Balaka as pilot districts, and commences in July 2024.

Under this context, MEJN, with financial support from the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (NORAD) through Save the Children, is extending an invitation to competent and qualified Malawian nationals to apply for the Regional Coordinator Post under CRG project.
