Family Planning Association of Malawi (FPAM) is a local, non-governmental organization providing
youth friendly sexual and reproductive health rights, information, and services. FPAM’s vision is a
Malawian society with access to quality and comprehensive sexual and reproductive health services
and information.
FPAM is looking for suitably qualified candidates to fill the following vacant position.
RECEPTIONIST/NURSE AIDE
Department: Programs
Reporting to: District Manager
Basis of Employment:Short-Term
II. Overall Objective:
The Receptionist/Nurse Aide will be responsible for creating a positive first impression for clients
from arrival to departure at FPAM Clinic. He/She is responsible for receiving clients, providing basic information about the clinic’s services and costs, and maintaining a friendly atmosphere. The Receptionist/Nurse Aide will ensure that the clinic is clean and adheres to infection prevention and client care standards.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
1. Welcome clients and provides basic information about FPAM and its services
2. Direct clients on a first come first serve basis to the appropriate service delivery room.
3. Ensure the comfort of clients at the waiting place.
4. Collect drug sales money and issue receipts and banking.
5. Maintain service statistics by entering on daily basis in the computer the service statistics provided by service providers.
6. Maintain the filing system in the District Managers office
7. Advise the District Manager on the required sundries for the management of the clinic.
8. Attend to all phone calls.
9. Cleaning of the Clinic.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATION:
1. An MSCE Certificate.
2. At least 2 years working experience in a clinic setting and working as a receptionist will be an added advantage.
3. Practical knowledge in computing (Microsoft excel and word).
4. Training in infection prevention will be an added advantage.
